T-Mode and Other TalesIt's been a pretty busy last few weeks for me. I finished my commissions for Waveya for Anime Matsuri at the end of March and they looked fantastic!

COMICKING STATUS
Progress is being made on Bonnie Lass volume 2! Issue three is in the works, while issues one and two just need a few polishes.
A couple of years ago I rounded out my work on the pages for Massively Effective, written by Marco Lopez and Bryan Ginn of Atomic Rex Entertainment. Be on the lookout for that one hitting you very soon! More to come!
Last year I was honored to be part of the Skullkickers third Tavern Tales issue as a guest illustrator. I drew a story written by the wonderful Charles Soule (27, Strange Attractors, and most recently Swamp Thing) and since then we've been working up a pitch for a brand new, original adventure! That'll be another one to stay tuned for, once we have some more solid info to share!

Need Suggestions!!! + TwitterI'm planning to do a series of artist cards and would like some idea for who to draw on them. Harley Quinn Club

LEXINGTON COMIC CONThis past weekend, I had the pleasure of being an invited guest at the Lexington Comic Con. For now it is a two day show, the crowd was enormous for such a new show in its second year. I was excited to be there and it's great to see people come out and support the artists and the industry. Had some great conversations with folks from here on Deviant who follow my work, which I am truly appreciative of. At the show, I able to sell quite a bit of my latest book, "Thinking on Paper" and new prints I had available this year. Looking forward to going back next year as Jarrod puts on a great show that i'm happy to be a part of. Thanks to the city of Lexington, KY.
On another note, I will be appearing again, as as invited guest to the Gem City Comic Con in Dayton, Oh. March 23-24. Hope to see some of you Deviants there as i'll be doing commissions on site, along with books and prints

(( Pardon My Dust ))We all seemed to make it through day light savings time with minimal injury and you know what that means now; SPRING CLEANING!

Had a week off from classes and spent the whole day catching up on dusting, organizing and spraying for bugs (yeah, we're still waging an uphill battle against bed bugs and roaches, but their number is dwindling ). So over the next couple of weeks I'm hoping to get a couple things organized on my deviantArt.
My primary hope is to make some custom icons for the folders on my gallery, but mostly getting everything condensed, sorted and made easier to navigate. I also need to upload a whole bunch of bracelets onto my Etsy account, so expect a flood of deviations in the next couple of weeks. XD
Other than that, chugging through the remainder of my plushie commissions for :iconRedxHarlxoxo: so I can open plushie and drawing commissions, but I'll give more details as I get closer to doing that. XD

So...So, my life has gotten rather interesting lately. One of my best friends ever :iconredxharlxoxo: has gotten me into cosplays, last year was a little rocky, because I didn't know what I was doing half the time, and that was my fault, but this year I'm starting early! And with a simpler cosplay as well; X-23 from marvel. But first before I can do anything I need to lose some weight. And when I say some…I really mean a lot.
So here's to hoping that I can and that I have the will to do it.

looking for a co-founder.as many people don't know, being the only in this group has it's advantages and it's disadvantages.
the advantages inclue:
seeing other cosplayer's work,
making new friends
and finally
making this group one step futher to being well known.
but then there arethe disadvantages. they inclue:
doing all the work myself,
being lonely all by myself,
as well as not knowing some of the cosplays that other people submit.
that is why, for only one week, the first 2 people to give me a very good reason to be a co-founder, will get the job. it has to be someone i can trust, as well as someone i know will help out as best they can.
this contest will go on until Monday the 15th of April.

I just wrote this journal to speak out to the cosplay community.

There is an epidemic of hatred going around targeted at some of the beautiful cosplay ladies we've all been seeing.
If you have a minute, please click the link and give it a read, I really hope it helps some people to stop stereotyping.

The more cosplayers that speak out, the better. And especially female cosplayers, they seem to get, well not all, but the great majority of trolling/rudeness/stupidity.

I'm never on anymore, glad to see someone is speaking out to defend women who are just cosplaying and having fun.

Some people...Ugh.

On a personal note, I think most of the hate is jealously. Just my two cents however. ^_^

AMEN! I think that most of those sending out negative comments are insecure in themselves as well. Sadly, we often project our own insecurities onto those who are secure in themselves and what they do. Or, if we are the type to be 'sluts' wearing that sort of thing (or have been called such so often that we feel that way about ourselves) we will do the same sort of thing in calling another that way... because it somehow makes us feel better about ourselves. It's not right... it is so very wrong. I wish it wouldn't happen ever. It disgusts me!

I must be quite naive about the whole cosplay thing (not being part of the culture itself, just an admirer); I wouldn't have expected this to have been a prevalent problem in cosplay circles. Then again, humans will be humans. By and large, we are hugely flawed and insecure creatures seeking to step over one another to gain a modicum of positive self imagery, not realizing we can truly only get that from within ourselves.

Most of the cosplayers whose work I appreciate are women and I'd say all of them are naturally beautiful women in or out of costume. That may make ME shallow, but it hardly reflects on THEIR character. I expect that is as true for those who put down these women for their exposed beauty as it is for me as I put them on a pedestal under the same qualifications.

like many of you who has their knees deep in this culture, it is pretty sickening when people are not accepted due to their looks. This is quite a conundrum to me because I am dam happy when i see attractive women cosplaying as characters I admire or had some experience either be it from a game or from an anime i have watched. I mean seeing an attractive girl cosplay as characters from Z.O.E or Guilty Gear is as much of a nerd as the next person. For someone to hate on the attractive cosplayer is beyond me. Why hate on a person who is embracing this culture to highest degree. It just makes no sense to me. This culture is not an exclusive club and why meet the stereotypes. We should all be embracing each other that we all have a connection now through this hobby of comics, anime, games, etc.

All of these comments are just a form of bigotry and the false sense of standing on a moral soap box. The comments that people make are spiteful but it also show how insecure they are about themselves. Its why people make hateful comments in the first place. Its out of pure jealousy that they can not attain what you and many other attractive cosplayers can.

keep on doing your thing and I hope those 3 AC girls keep on doing their thing too. A couple of haters should never deter your love for a hobby.
